Miss Alexis is our Harleysville Studio Manager, producing and choreographing our annual ballet and jazz productions. She began dancing at New Dance Workshop at age four, later performing with the company at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. A Kutztown University graduate certified in Dance Education, she now enters her 10th season teaching at NDW, bringing that same family atmosphere to her students while leading productions for Walt Disney World, 76ers, and Flyers performances.

Ms. Rachel began dancing at age six and competed in both competitive and non-competitive circuits throughout high school. She graduated summa cum laude from Dean College with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, where her choreography was featured in several showcases, including the college's 50th Anniversary Company Performance. Her studies included pedagogy, kinesiology, dance history, and composition. Before joining New Dance Workshop in 2014, she worked with Step Up 2 Dance and managed a youth dance program. Today, she teaches students from age 3 through adult in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, acro, and creative movement.

Ms. Tiara holds a BFA in Dance and BA in Psychology from Temple University, along with an MS in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute. She previously worked as a dance/movement therapist at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, leading Creative Expressions, Open Art, and Stress Reduction groups for adults in psychiatric care. Today, she works as a Dance Movement Therapist for children with special needs and is a member of the American Dance Therapy Association. Miss Tiara has also choreographed adapted tap productions for our recitals, including La La Land.

Ms. Alysse holds a BA in Dance from Cedar Crest College and a BS in Business Administration, with extensive training in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and tap. She has experience teaching children with Down syndrome and other challenges, and has received multiple choreography awards, including recognition for Alice, New York, and We Will Not Stay Silent. Alysse is excited to be part of a team dedicated to fun, educational dance experiences for every student.

Cara has worked as a freelance professional dancer since age eighteen, with extensive ballet training under George Thompson and Pennsylvania Ballet soloists Tara Keating and Meredith Rainey. She has choreographed for the Fringe Festival Philadelphia and the New Horizons Dance Alliance, with works including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and The Dream. Cara also choreographs for the Montgomery Theatre in Souderton, owned by her family, and holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Dance/Movement Therapy from Drexel University.​

Michelle Munno Weir holds a BFA in dance from UARTS and an MFA in dance/choreography from Temple University. Michelle is a former Assistant Professor of dance (2002-2012) at Cedar Crest College, Allentown, PA, and has taught or been a guest artist at several other colleges. Mrs. Weir has taught dance to people of all ages and styles. She was also certified to teach ballroom dance and Pilates. Michelle was classically trained in ballet and loves jazz and modern dance. Mrs. Weir’s full-time occupation is a 4th-grade teacher at North Wales Elementary. After a pause in teaching dance, she is thrilled to be back in the studio at New Dance Workshop.

Jeana began dancing with New Dance Workshop at age three, training in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, and modern. She earned a BA in Dance from DeSales University, performing with the DSU Dance Team and Touring Company. After graduation, she danced professionally with coExist in Philadelphia and Carnival Cruise Line, and trained at Peridance in New York City. Now teaching where she first started, Jeana combines her love of children and passion for dance in a true full-circle moment, and looks forward to many more years with the NDW team.

Miss Angelina started dancing at the age of 5 with New Dance Workshop in Harleysville where she studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and hiphop. After graduating college she came right back to New Dance Workshop to teach. She's so excited to teach her students what she learned over the years. It has really become a full circle moment for her and shows how New Dance Workshop is truly a family that sticks with you.

Miss Shelley has been teaching ballet for 49 years. She opened her studio in West Point in 1982, and is still teaching today. Shelley studied with Nancy Johnson with the San Francisco Ballet and with Jilliana of the San Diego Ballet. She performed with the San Diego Ballet touring Arizona and Nevada. She studied jazz with Phil Black, Luigi and Tommy Rola. She did a five month tour of the East Coast in summer stock, performing in Bravo. She also studied with Tom Stevens of West Side Story on Broadway. Shelley has mentored many of our teachers and choreographed spectacular ballet productions. We think of her as our national treasure.

Mary Joy, a native of Newport, RI, trained at New Paltz School of Ballet and Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh before earning her B.F.A. in Dance on scholarship from Mercyhurst University, graduating Dean's List. She has performed leading roles including the title role in Giselle, danced with Seiche Dance Collective as a principal from 2022 to 2024, and appeared as the Dew Drop Fairy with Lake Erie Ballets' Nutcracker in 2023. Her training includes summer intensives at The School of American Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, along with work under noted choreographers such as Maria Caruso and Silas Farley.
