About Us
New Dance Workshop was founded by Marlyn Abramson with a simple goal:
give students of every age a place to learn dance in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
Today, our studios in Spring House and Harleysville continue that mission, led by a team of university-trained instructors dedicated to helping every dancer grow at their own pace.

From our Founder/Director

Marlyn Abramson

“We believe that fantastic things can happen to those that study dance. Improved coordination, posture, and self-confidence are among some of the benefits. Our student-centered approach to the art of dance fosters creativity and self-expression.”

Our Origins

My Story

"My journey began at age 4, when my mother enrolled me in my first dance class. My family's encouragement never wavered, through recitals, and later, dancing with the Philadelphia Civic Ballet Company at 15. That support taught me how much it matters for a child pursuing a passion.

In high school, teaching dance sparked a dream: a studio of my own. In 1973, my husband built one in our house, and I opened the Marlyn Abramson School of Dance with 12 students.

Over 53 years later, that small studio grew into several locations and several satellite programs, with students performing at Walt Disney World, for the Philadelphia 76ers, and at senior centers. Always with the same philosophy: quality instruction, delivered with care, because the children come first.

I've been fortunate to teach multiple generations of the same families, including my own. My daughters and granddaughters have all danced in our schools, and today my daughter Jennifer carries the legacy forward as studio director alongside me. Dance builds confidence, self-esteem, and character. Thank you to every parent and student who let me share this love with them.

Keep on dancing!"
